UPDATED: Do As I Say, Not As I Do: War

contradiction roberts report onlineGetting tired of saying, “If Bush woulda done that…”? Yeah, me too. It is remarkable how slanted media coverage is depending on whether the subject is liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican.  What is even more remarkable is how blatantly contradictory politicians have become lately, especially on the left.  In the past, there used to at least appear to be an effort to not contradict themselves or an attempt to cover it up. Now, they are just out in the open, reckless and seemingly without any concern about getting caught lying or flip-flopping.

I believe this occurs because the public, in general, is still asleep at the wheel.  They care more about who is on Dancing With The Stars or who was just eliminated on American Idol than they do about the public figures that have a direct impact in their lives, their careers and their freedom.  The media shares most of the blame.

The latest blatant example of this disregard for contradiction is the military actions taken against Libya. Here is a small list that I have hastily compiled over the last few days.  I intend to update this blog post as more occur.

Trust me, more will occur.

  • Remember how evil it was to go to war over oil?  I guess it’s not so evil when the President is a Democrat!
  • When Bush went to war in Iraq, he began with a coalition that included 49 countries, of which 6 contributed invasion support and 33 provided troop support for the occupation.  Obama has two other countries:  France and Britain.
  • Bush obtained congressional approval to go to war.  Obama did not.

That should get things started. Do you know of some that I missed? Let me know.
